EARLY CHRISTIANITY & TODAY'S PERCEPTIONS

The word apostle comes from the word Greek apostolos, which means “one sent forth”. Jesus chose a dozen good men, and they spread his teachings which we now call Christianity. however not everyone believed in his teachings. Some violently oppressed him, and his followers, these are called persecutors. The Romans put Jesus on the crucifix, yet his teachings live on. The greatest missionary of Christianity is St.Paul, he is its first theologian (specialist in theology, an expert, theology. which is the study of, or theory part of a religious nature.)

Originally a persecutor, he had a revelation, during a trip he was taking from Jerusalem to Damascus. He saw a bright light, a vision, and heard the voice of Jesus. He was asked to stop persecuting his people and to join him in spreading the word. At first he spoke to Jews in synagogues and homes.

But, he knew this call was pertaining to gentiles and forged a plan to travel as far west as Spain. So, he became the apostle of the gentiles, and succeeded in spreading the word to many. Specifically, Roman citizens found it most appealing for its tolerant teachings and comforting ways. For years under the empire’s nose it would be practiced, till its full acceptance in the world.

St. Paul is one of the saints I have studied in the past. He is interesting, because through him we see where this religion came from. Also it is important that I say that specific religions aren't always right in what they tell us. You have to understand that some of the writings are exaggerated because they were traditionally past down by word of mouth like many stories of biblical times, before being written. I am a Roman Catholic, and I am not overly religious because my view of religion is the most unique. Everyone has a religion maybe because it was what they were born into. Perhaps they converted believing strongly in it. Which ever religion you are a part of (except devil worshipers & pagans) they are all the same. They all tell us there is a much more powerful force in the universe, that created us, that helps guide us. All religions say this, teach this, and worship this. The fact is it is not God at all, but people who do these things. God exists because we believe it. Some may be polytheistic, in which case all your gods exist because you believe it. We want to believe that we aren't alone, that there's something else out there that can help us. I believe Religion is the answer to being hopeless and that's why it's important.

Many unfortunately are blind to the fact that the bible was spoken, then written, and it was all by men. Not women, and not Jesus. With this said I do not like those who exploit religion for money, politics, or any way that insults the whole point of it. These people in America who exploit it for the wrong reasons are usually protestant(southerners), and these are the same people that think Bush is doing a great job and think by dropping the bomb on the middle east, Jesus will come again. These people I hate. They are a plague to this country. The biggest too because they use a lot of justification for doing the wrong thing, a very human trait. Bush Jr. is one of them, and he is the leader.

I believe I got through to someone out there. Religion isn't perfect. People voted years ago about what to put in the bible, people like women were excluded from religion & politics. Womens rights is a new concept, like a lot of things today. Religion is something many believe strongly, and some devote there lives to it. That isn't bad though because I am not here to say religion is bad, it's just flawed, and there's things that could be changed. Most important It is our responsibility to use our heads and think if any of it is necessary, and remember where and when all the religions of the world originated. This is the only way to understand the people behind the world, the only way to understand our flaws and its flaws, and the only way to tolerance.

A Tid Bit Of Politics

The news today is very one sided. I wonder how many people reading this know that we still have troops in Afghanistan. I wonder how many realize Bush will wind up leaving this country in disarray. It is funny how it has all turned out. I really don't want to say too much about him, he gets enough attention.
N.Y.C. mayor is an asshole, I say Fuck that putha! I don't know if anyone remembers this but, he used to fine people for sitting on milk crates and on steps. Clearly all the stupid, ignorant, and greedy people have power. The former mayor Gulliani, gave too much power to cops. Everyday I would hear about them abusing there power when I was little. I also remember listening to a report about cops shooting a man for holding a wallet. It's Fucked up. Gulliani not a good choice as president. Hilary and Obama I don't know about, but already I don't like them. I don't like their sense of humor, and could care less for their campaigns and empty promises.
We need another F.D.R. for the sake of this country. I think Lewis Black said it best when he said "I think it's time for a dead president...no one will fuck with us for some time." No but honestly, people who support bush need to stay home next election day. Jesus! We don't need another good old boy as President, we need a good public speaker. Someone who will Be symbolic of our nations strength. All bush is symbolic of is how weak, dumb, vulnerable, and confused this nation is.

LITERATURE vs TECHNOLOGY

I believe literature could continue to lose popularity with people. There's two perspectives however. It could be just people have no time for it. It's a slow process, to read, compared to anything else. After reading you often have to piece together what the writer is saying. The fact that people want more information faster doesn't help. Nor does technology's advances in entertainment. More and more video games and movies become more provocative, and interactive. One day the two will bind into one simple form of entertainment. People will be able to live in fictional worlds, virtual worlds. Lack of Patience and concentration is the fall back to many of today's youth who I have unpleasantly seen complain and bicker about how boring it is to read books like "All Quiet on the Western Front," which in my opinion is the best book/source of info about what war is really like.
People without understanding of the most simple concepts are lost. Books are guides to living, because people before us sat down and wrote down every god damn visual detail of that world, of their characters, of life, of ethics, and other themes. These writers aren't presenting complete fiction, it comes from their inspirations, and their lives. Kids are being fucked over, quality in today's education is lacking, and many minds cannot be swayed to appreciate the knowledge and opportunities laying out in front of them in novels. It all comes back to my previous statement, technology is an easier, faster alternative. Push a button and a visual display swirls past your eyes and ears, and no thinking is required. This is what were heading toward? Life without thinking? vegetables? No. I don't accept that, I'll believe most will wind up a mess, they'll be confused, not knowing where they went wrong.
It all comes back to these kids having no patience. My generation is the "lost generation". Probably the worst case of lost. They are Blind, Def, and Fucken stupid. People should read books instead of "destroying" them. Now I'm not saying this is a serious threat. Hell I won't declare a War on Illiterates or Dumb Fucks. I won't tell you to read because if you don't you'll be attacked by someone who isn't there. I am just making a point, giving some fat to chew. I want an America where people think, and I want a world that acknowledges that Americans aren't fucked up without being fucked with. I know I am attacking a lot but I have so much to say, so little time. All I am saying is that reading and interpreting novels is an activity of quality, and it is the best activity to get you thinking.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my blog. My blog will cover controversial debates among people. It will offer in-depth opinions on many heated topics. I want you all to know nothing said in the text is to be taken as bullshit. Because nothing said will be bullshit, everything will be supported by facts. For example, George Bush is an asshole. That's bullshit. George Bush is the biggest asshole to run this country. Still Bullshit. George Bush Jr. is the biggest asshole to run this country into the ground, because he has too many people fighting in the wrong part of the Middle East, and Not enough people here to protect us. He is the Biggest Fuck up in History!!!! Good example, no? Don't like the language? Don't like my opinion? Well to bad. I'm a passionate person when it comes to fighting or expressing my opinion. Those are the people you don't fuck with. Give me your comments, tell me your thoughts. Tell me what you'd like me to discuss, debate, or flat out fight for. Just give me enough to go on. Give me a reason, a cause and I'll debate.
